In looking at how architecture has evolved, we find many historical references of ornate brick detailing. Here are a few examples, taken from the book Victorian Brick and Terra-Cotta Architecture, showing some of the impressive detailing of Victorian architecture and how originality was achieved simply by varying colors, patterns, and angles and incorporating basic techniques like corbling to make architectural history.
