Brick – A Picture of Sustainability
Time-tested, all natural brick is the architectural face of sustainability. Brick is made primarily from abundant natural resources, and most of the materials are mined near manufacturing facilities. Almost everything mined is used, resulting in near-zero waste of raw materials.
Basic production is only the beginning when it comes to the green and sustainable superiority of brick. Nearly every major urban area in the United States is within 500 miles of at least one brick plant. And because of the aesthetic appeal and durability of brickwork, bricks are often reused, significantly reducing environmental impact when compared to new construction.
